I can't update Silksong
When I initially attempted the update, it got stuck on the 'downloading' stage, at 0%. I restarted it, and it did it again, so I went to sleep. Today, I tried again, same problem. I stepped away for a few hours, no progress. I stopped it, but now it's stuck on 'stopping download'. I found online that clearing the download cash should fix it, but then it just got stuck on that screen, saying the same thing. If I can't get back into this game, or my 98% save gets messed up, I might actually break, mentally. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to fix this?

I'm still having this problem, but now it just tells me that there's a disk write error- I've checked and double checked every solution I could find to no effect. None of my other games are having this problem, either, so I'm completely out of ideas . . .
Hmm, could be a number of things, hopefully not a failing drive.

You're on Windows?
I'm thinking, rather than directly address the issue at the moment, first make a backup of the game folder, then uninstall and try a fresh install, see if things go smoothly.

If install is problematic, and assuming the game files were unaffected in the previous update attempts, we can return the backup and have Steam believe the game is updated so you can get to play and continue troubleshooting as you wish.

It won't let me make a backup through the manage menu without updating the game. Would it work to just copy/paste to a desktop folder? I can't even play it as is-
Yeah sorry, copying the game folder is what I meant by backup, not the Steam process.

I did as you suggested, and it can't install the game either. I don't know what to do at this point. Something seems to be wrong with Silksong itself.
Have you tried resetting your whole pc and steam too? This can fix issues sometimes.

I have restarted steam and my laptop more than 10 times a piece.
