Steam asks for CD key photos of album covers and I bought them on G2A...

Hello,

While I was playing, I suddenly received a restriction notice on my account mentioning suspicious activity and a message related to “Skin.Club.” I want to clarify that I did not post or share that content.

It seems that my account may have been accessed without my authorization. Since then, I have already:

Changed my Steam password.

Logged out of all other sessions.

Secured my email account.

Scanned my PC for malware.

I kindly request that you review my case and remove the current restrictions from my account, as I believe this was caused by unauthorized access.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
Oscarelo

Hello!

Thanks for contacting Steam!

I've been reviewing your ticket and am here to help you, however, we need more information to verify that you are the account owner.

In your next reply, please make sure to send a screenshot of your VisaElectron (BoaCompra) delivery receipt for a purchase on this Steam account.

Check out our Saving and Submitting a Screenshot article if you're having any trouble with the process.

If you can't access your delivery receipts, please contact their Help Center and request a copy of your purchase history report.

Please note that only the receipts described above can be accepted for our verification purposes.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hello.

Thank you for contacting the Steam support team and for the information you provided.

Although the information you provided matches our account records, we are still missing some information from you to help you with this issue.

In your next message, type out in full the CD Key registered to your Steam account so we can easily investigate this issue. This can be a CD Key received from an online retailer or a physical store before 2025.

Then, attach an image of that CD key. The image should be a digital photo or scan of the CD Key in .jpg format, or a screenshot of the CD key as it appears in your digital purchase receipt. Please ensure that you submit a full-color image, rather than a photocopy.

Check out our Retail CD Keys article if you're having trouble locating any of your CD Keys.

The image you'll send to us should look something like these examples for physical CD keys:
Example 1
Example 2

I've never purchased keys from physical stores, nor do I have keys on CDs, as shown in the examples.

The keys I entered into my Steam account were obtained from G2A.

They told you to provide proof of ownership. When you provide it, they will give it back.

So you didn't follow the directions in the other thread?

Why did you bother with account recovery if you were able to change password and log out sessions? You didn't need to recover the account since you already had access to it.

Anyhow, good luck. You'll need to give Support what they ask for. Work with Support. There's nothing the community can do to help you now.
