How can two children, under 13 yo, play the same game at the same time?
Both my daughters (9yo and 8yo) want to play Stardew Valley. Currently, the 9yo is using my account with family view enabled. The 8yo just got a new computer and also wants to play Stardew Valley. I know they both can't play at the same time. I would also like to keep game saves separate if possible. If I buy another copy of Stardew Valley, will they both be able to play at the same time and keep track of their own progress?

Alternatively, I could make child accounts for both of them and lie about their age.

That would be a bad idea to lie about their age. It might not get you banned but I'd still not recommend since it could be seen as being in violation of the KOSA and OSA thing.

Yes. With a second copy, two people can play the same game simultaneously.

As for saves, they go with the Steam account so as long as every player got her own Steam account (and their respective system account which should be the case if they're playing on different systems), you're fine.

You make them their own accounts. You have to be 13 to create an account. Are you over 13? Yes. Then there's no issue.

After all how are you going to buy a second license of Stardew Valley without at least one child account?

Part of the reason Family Sharing exists is this scenario.

Maybe it seems like splitting hairs, but you're letting your kids use your account already. Ok so create a second and third account for yourself, which you're allowed to do. And let your kids use those. It's the same thing you're doing now, with fewer impediments.

You can make them their own steam accounts and manage what they have access to on steam via steam families

Good advice, thanks! I'm going to go ahead and create separate Steam accounts.
