"Enable Extended Buttons" Switch Automatically Toggles Off - 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G

Has anyone managed to get the extended buttons functionality working?

My controller is on DirectInput mode, connected via the 2.4GHz adapter, and the back paddles are being recognized by Steam (as shown on the test controller menu), but I'm unable to turn on the "Enable Extended Buttons" functionality, and as such, unable to actually map the back paddles via Steam Input.

I am having the same issue—pretty frustrating. I’m in D-Input, and the “enable extended buttons” toggle works, but as soon as I assign something it automatically toggles off. Were you able to get any fix working?

I'm having a similar issue with the Ultimate 2 - for some reason Silksong is recognizing L5 as "B" which auto heals me when my hand bumps the paddle. very annoying.

I've tried to remap L5, but when toggling "extended buttons" and removing the "B" mapping, the "enable extended buttons" toggles itself off automatically.

with extended buttons disabled, the game still identifies the back paddles as B and Y
