I have found in the past it's best to delete the current payment method and then re-add it, rather than editing it.

That is the thing, it appears as if I had no previous saved payment methods now and I can only select putting in a new one. (Despite having used the same card and others in the past)

So no luck in that regard.

Something that does sometimes work for these is using a different version of Steam. by which I mean if you're using the desktop client try using Steam through your browser or vice versa .

So no luck there, it is a steam issue as my credit card bank already did all they could. Support has also been of no help with late replies that came down to no one being able to talk the main language my account is linked to.

So I sent a message in English explaining the issue being on their end. The message is simply a placeholder by Steam when it cannot determine the issue, I guess its easier to blame the bank even when not doing a purchase.

To anyone who may just now be coming across this discussion. Ive tried to add my card from my profile from desktop, online site, mobile and from a straight purchase from inside a game.

Steam simply cuts off any way available so as to restrict it. There is no info available as to how one would be able to fix this and as of the writing of this comment, there has been no solution provided by Steam support.
