Unable to edit/customize/apply Steam Input Controller Layouts
I use an xbox controller to play No Mans Sky and I use a custom layout for the controller. I have not had any issues till I went to play and I noticed my controls were wrong. When I went into the controller layout window (steam input on ofc) it was set to the game default layout. I cannot change it to a different layout in any way.

If I try to change layout, it will take me to the lists screen like normal, I can select my custom layout, and it will show the correct preview of the layout with my settings, but if I hit "apply layout" it goes back to the main menu and the layout is still set to default.

If I try to save a new layout, it will show that it the new layout is active in the menu, but if I navigate away in any way it will reset. If I exit the window with the layout 'active' it resets to default when you exit, as I tried starting the game immediately and the controls were the default controls.

If I try to edit the controls it will let me edit the binding in the tab I am in (eg the joysticks tab for on foot controls) but when I navigate to anything else it takes me back to the first page in the editor and erases all the changes.

tl;dr I cannot change or edit the Steam Input Controller Layout for my controller at all.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Are there any known solutions? Everything I can find on similar issues are from a bug from 2023 and they aren't helpful. Thanks!

Try using Big Picture Mode to change your Steam Input layout it often saves the settings properly.
