600+ Market Confirmation Emails? 15 Day Holds?
Hey I have had my account for a long long time, and I have a ton of junk in my inventory. A friend reached out and told me it's a good time to look at that stuff and sell it, as I'm hoping to buy an OLED steam deck and want this to subsidize the cost some.

I have over 600 items to sell, and each item I attempt to sell requires me to go to my email and approve the listing, that's over 600 confirmation emails. Please don't make me do that, please give me an alternative or workaround.

And 15 day hold? I don't want to download an app, and even if I did you guys state I haven't been using it for 7 days so I'm still locked out for some time while prices fluctuate.

I never would have imagined how difficult it would be to sell this stuff, and I'm extremely disappointed in Steam making me jump through these hoops. Is there anything I can do to cut down on either of these restrictions?

Yeah there is no workaround for confirmation of selling items, even if you use the app you still need to confirm each item. Their is no hold period with the app once you clear the app activation cooldown period of 7 days.

Thanks mia, absolutely insane, wish I had the foresight to sell this stuff ten years ago when I was actively playing cs go, the experience will lower my estimation of valve/steam

Your welcome. I know it's a pain in the ass but due to people constantly falling for scams and getting their accounts hijacked which are then used to steal/sell items... I guess Steam felt they had no choice but to pumped up security for marketplace/trades by adding confirmation for each item.

I get why they did it though...they gave us all the tools we need to secure our accounts but if people are just handing their information over to scammers there is not a lot steam can do about it.

Now I get an error message saying I've clicked on too many confirmation emails. What a joke. This will take hours

Well yeah, the system isn't designed around people listing hundreds of items in bulk. The system has rules and limits for good reason. You don't use the system much and don't care, so it just feels annoying and silly.

But beggars can't be choosers, now can they?

While you will need to confirm everything when using the app aswell, you can just select all items in the app and confirm them at the same time. I'd highly suggest using the app instead of email confirmation.

Lmao lick that boot harder kid. I'm a customer, a paying one, and the company has created systems which make doing something that should be simple extremely complicated and cumbersome. Glad you appreciate it and are there to cheerlead it, but I don't and can vocalize it as I please.

It's stupid and people that defend it are braindead. Allow me to take my account security in to my own hands. I have 2FA, I'm on trusted devices, I don't need the "help". I can buy crypto, open and/or empty a bank account, take out a loan, do any number of things in less than 15 days with less ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bogging it down all to complicate the selling of 5 cent digital trinkets

I have been there, unfortunately you can't opt-out from it. People pulled "do you guys not have phones" card but yes, I didn't have a phone that apps can be installed either.

For a long time, I had to convert all the timed cards into gems. In the end, I had to use an Android emulator on PC to get pass it but still waited the cooldown period.

The thing is, there are a lot of people who think a spyware Android phone, which can be stolen, which can be broken, which can be lost, is more secure than a PC doesn't matter if you have secure home, secure mail and 2FA. If something happens to your phone, you are pretty much doomed.

For Twitch and such, I still use SMS verification and it works just fine.
