Unable to Link Mobile Number to Steam Account – No SMS Received
Hi, I'm Vijay. I'm new to Steam and I’m having trouble linking my mobile number to my account.

Here’s what I did:

Downloaded and logged into the Steam mobile app.

Enabled Steam Guard and entered the authentication code on my PC.

Verified my email successfully.

Entered my mobile number to link it with my account.

The problem is that I haven’t received any SMS verification code. I’ve retried several times, but now I’m getting a message saying, “Please try using a different number.”

Could someone from the support team please help me resolve this issue or suggest what I should do next?

If you’re not receiving the SMS, it’s usually one of three issues: the carrier blocking Steam messages, your number being flagged as previously used on another account, or temporary Steam server issues. Try using a different phone number if possible, make sure your number can receive international SMS, disable any SMS filtering or Do Not Disturb, and wait a few hours before retrying. If it still doesn’t work, contact Steam Support directly with your account details so they can manually verify and link your number.
