No because you did not search for past post, and technicaly any steam user with past 100 games, will sooner or later notice there is not enough room for them at desktop, so technicaly you waste your time with validating games and reinstalled games just to fix it.

+ more tear down at drives, any tech person can tell you this but we dont do that here.

This is more a past gen ppl issue, most gamers today use the inclient boxcover play button, pretty much standard for all them game client.

only reason to use windows shortcuts is for script extending games or mods that see this as best choise with use it.

And yes you did it you Reinstall OS/reset it and wipe previous games icon in steam icon folder.

Don't think we other have not done same mistake in the past, we know all about blank icons issue here. ( icons aka windows shorcut was once a past ways to start games today its outdated, wont fix old games icon issue + sorting issue among so many title then you bought them so no its a waste of time.

any steam user's with past 250 to 500+ games could have told you this. ( depend on each steam user think is many games )

And it will happend again, unless you know what backup is, all drivers can go bad with a burnout. ( so technicaly you have solved nothing here. ( with a windows shortcut fix. )

Dont do that misttke make none steam dynamic library, becuase most get tired of sorting them in categories. ( you only make such then tags dont do it for you. )

if you ask any steam user here will you sort 1000 games, most here can see the task start to be job. problem is 100 games is nothing to sort its overtime and later then you have so many games this is not funny anymore.

Another of them advice you might not need but i can tell you many will wish some one bother to tell them when they was new at steam.

gl with fix a icon if that is your way. i start to learn what other have done for years. even before me.

And you dont even know right click each game make shortcut is already there under manage.

Miamew3 - thanks for the help. It looks like #2 did the trick. Clicking on Manage>Add desktop icon just game me the blank icon like installing them from scratch. I wish I would have found it earlier.
