Verify a Credit Card IS TERRIBLE
To verify your credit card, we will make two small authorizations on the card. The authorizations are not a payment and will never leave the pending state nor will they cost you money. The authorizations will automatically expire, but the time it takes for them to expire depends on your bank.

After we make the authorizations on your credit card, you will have to login to your credit card's online account and look for the two small authorizations under your "posted transactions" or "pending transactions." It may take one or two days for the transactions to appear, depending on your bank. Once the authorizations show up, come back to complete the verification process by entering the amount of the two authorizations.

Click the button below to make these two small authorizations on the card and begin the verification process.

-Your bank declined one or both of our small authorizations. If you clear this issue up with your bank, you can retry then.

(Its charging me more than is in my account to verify the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ credit card...)

YO, THIS IS A REALLY F***ING BAD SYSTEM. REMOVE IT.

steam has issues, but calling your card company while doing the verification, might help.

simply retrying over and over, isn't going to work without putting in some effort.

the verification thing sucks, but thats how this stuff works.

Are you confusing "credit" and "debit"?

It would explain why the are declining... With debit, you MUST have the funds in the account or the bank will decline, even though Steam will never take those amounts.

It's normal for credit cards, as long as it doesn't exceed the credit available.

Because your bank has declined the transactions as you have been told by the error. Spamming retry won't magically fix this - Valve cannot get around your bank denying the transaction.

you don't need steams options, call your bank, while the verification is being sent, if the bank says they haven't declined anything or no verification has been sent then its an issue with steam and/or it's bank (or w/e it they use).

that is almost always not the case, it usually ends up being an issue with steam, I have seen this issues personally and called my bank, finding nothing wrong with my banks end, as mentioned in my recent reply to the OP.

Ill tell you what valve CAN do, they can withdraw .01 CENTS EVERY TIME, except the name that charged you would be DIFFERENT and you could just GIVE THE NAME.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
