Yeah your long lost brother called, he need you send couple hundred bucks, and give you millions later. If that doesn't set as red flag then not sure what else to tell you.

Anyways yes it is scam, Steam support does not contact anyone unless YOU went out of your way to make a ticket to Steam support, or bought hardware which unable to mail to you via Steam. So you can figure out by now no one should be contacting you for anything that you didn't requested via Steam help section.

If you're ever thinking "Scam or not?" It is always scam. Anything anyone ever claims to be is scam in general.

Dude if it EVER seems like a scam, you need to be looking at any possible way you could be screwed over, especially when RANDOM people send you URL's to click on, claiming that you did something you *know* you didn't do.

Sucks but make this a learning experience bro

You must be logged out of all accounts to start the account recovery process.

You don't need access to the email, phone or password currently tied to the hijacked/hacked account for this to work. Just pick the "I do not have access..." or a similar option when asked.

And to help you sign-in: https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithLogin

A step by step guide to the recovery process:

They hijacked your account without your knowledge for the first part of the scam and then they baited you into giving away your items for the concluding part.

All you can do is secure your account and device so it doesn't happen again:-

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
