I can't play any of my games
I go to launch any game and it fails and this post is on the computer

an error occurred while launching this game : Disk write error - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\appmanifest_228980.acf

Any idea what's going on i would appreciate any help

UPDATE: reinstalled steam and now everything works fine.
looks like steamworks had a problem with an update that fixed itself with reinstall

If that fails to work, it is something with the disk writing or disk itself.

You can test by writing something to the disk

Using the Rt-click Disk Drive < Properties < Tools < Check

My steam works will not update I tried to uninstall and reinstall and now it won't event reinstall

bro oh my freaking gosh i had this same problem. what i did was get completely naked and i was able to play

What happens when you try to reinstall?

Had a similar issue, but my problem was a weird edge case. In case it helps anyone: if you use StableBit DrivePool, you may need to reauthenticate your license.
Needed to do this after swapping out a CPU and updating BIOS.
