Steam did not save my cloud data for a game. Is it still retrievable?
I played Metal Gear Rising and finished 80% of it about 2 years ago, but when I opened it again, all my saved data was lost. and apparently, it saved it to the current progress as well.

I have all the trophies to prove it, but can I do anything to bring back the old save? Obviously, MGR has cloud sync as well

If you cannot find the correct save here https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

Steam does not have any other copies of it.

Did you by any chance see a message that Steam cloud saves was out of sync ?
And if you have selected all cloud data they would have over written all the saves on the HDD.
What you you should have done was choose the saves on the HDD.
Sorry to say it cant be undone.
You maybe could ask someone on the discussion hub for that game if there is any saves that are dowbnloadable. Some games will upload saves to the games websight

One thing you can try , Open the game's directory where the saves were rightclick the empty space then properties>previous versions. See if your windows still has this , copy the folder out.
It looks like this when I did it with my screenshots and was able to restore them.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm very bad at this (ノへ ̄、)
There are no previous versions, and as far as I remember, I didn't receive any cloud save conflicts, although it's been so long I don't remember. Assuming It did, and I pressed the wrong save file. IS there a way to revert it?

No. If data is important to you back it up yourself, like has been preached for decades. Don't (solely) rely on automated systems you don't control or understand.

Tell me then
How do I back up my game data from the previous device where it still has the data?
