Not the Chat beta.
It defaulted everyones "Game Details" to private.
Anyway, thanks.
A dev said it was not supposed to behave that way and they were working on a fix...

In certain instances, upon launch, Dead by Daylight may present an "Initialization Error" which states that progress cannot be saved and the game requires a restart. A restart may or may not fix the issue. It is usually caused by the local save file for the game bugging out or corrupting somehow. Try this fix:
Launch Dead by Daylight and tab out of it. Make sure it is running in the background
Navigate to your Steam Library. Right-click on "Dead by Daylight" and click "Properties"
Click the "Updates" tab and un-check "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Dead by Daylight" and click "OK"
Close Dead by Daylight running in the background
Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(Your Unique ID)\381210" (or similar in your installation directory for Steam
Delete the contents of the folder you're in, which should be a file called "remotecache" and a folder called "remote"
Navigate to your Steam Library. Right-click on "Dead by Daylight" and click "Properties"
Click the "Updates" tab and check "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Dead by Daylight" and click "OK"
Exit Steam (this can be done by opening the Steam client, clicking "Steam" from the top-left corner and selecting "Exit" from the drop-down menu)
Start Steam and launch Dead by Daylight. The initialization error should be fixed.
that's what i've done and it fixxed my problem, gl
In fact, when I press the invite button, what you see in video here happens: https://youtu.be/APF6uxJJrgk .
In fact, before the client update,I would invite dozens of players at once, and everything was fine for everyone, but for about a year now, I've been unable to invite practically anyone because I can only invite one friend at a time. Because the window suddenly closes for no reason, and I have to reinvite one at a time, making it impossible to stay organized and even play a single game.
Over time, this bug has heavily damaged our Duke Nukem Forever community.
How can I solve this long-standing bug?
I can only invite one person, after which the Steam invite panel closes, quickly(for osme milliseconds) displaying the overlay menu, as in the video I previously uploaded to this support thread.
So, to invite a second player, I have to press the invite key again, and so on
