How to disable steam input for non-steam game?

Usually it would be in the list, like this:

And you can disable it from there.

However, with a third party game (a non-steam game), there is no option:

How do I disable steam input for a non-steam game.

You can set it via Big Picture Mode:
Select the non-Steam game in the Library > Manage Shortcut > Controller Options

(Can also access Controller Options menu post game launch if using the Big Picture overlay. Does require restarting game for Steam Input setting to apply though.)

I have the opposite question: how to enable Steam Input for non-Steam games (outside of the Steam library)?
My gyro is drifting, and with the Steam Input I can fix it by calibration
