How to DISCONNECT a controller from Steam?

So I have a Xbone controller and it works with Steam and it has a desktop configuration.
The problem is whenever I press something that is a "desktop configuration hotkey" while playing a non-Steam game, it will, on a left-stick-press for example, open the controller-based keyboard.
I do not want it to do this. I want Steam to ignore the controller altogether. I want to unsync it.
How do I do this?

Start Big Picture, open Big Picture Settings and disable the Steam controller emulation.

Where are the Big Picture Settings? I can't find it for the life of me. I've clicked controller settings but there's no emulation box in there.

Big Picture Mode has its own settings. That's why i told you to start Big Picture Mode.

Close Steam entirely OR disconnect the controller. There's no way to disable it.

Disable Steam's XInput mapper & restart Steam. That'll disable those effects.

There has been settings on Big Picture mode for the last year or so, but it's location changed. To anybody who returns to this post with a similar issue (I use an emulator to game as well, so Steam overriding the emulator was a problem), the settings was in the top right, now it's bottom left. And to stop Steam from overriding every other location, I turned off the desktop inputs that Steam does.

Boa tarde Pessoal, utilizo o controle do Ps5 para jogar jogos, utilizando emulação de controle do xbox para jogos não steam e steam, porém quando abro a steam ele reconhece como controle do Ps5, no entanto não funciona 100%, alguns jogos bugam não não funcionam corretamente, gostaria de sabe se tem como desabilitar a steam de encontrar o controle, pois ele faz isso automaticamente.
