computer hacking through steam client
Starting January 2nd 2013 someone is taking over my computer and (trying to) putting a file syncronisation software program on my computer after about 5 minitues after starting a Steam multiplayer program (tried both MW3 and BO II). I think he gains acces to my computer through the Steam overlay. Steam team please help to stop this!! Need help in stopping him to acces my computer!! Can"t play any Steam multiplayer games anymore!! Others are at risk as well!! Urgent request for security breach stoppage!!

best way to make sure its clean
disconnect from the internet, and backup your important stuff first
Find a local nerd to do a full evaluation of your computer. Security, optimization, etc.
While its possible to walk you through this over chat (and you can learn a lot this way) find somebody local, trustworthy and who can explain what the heck they're doing and why. No need to bring it to a store where they can make a copy of your stuff(without telling you) and give you more viruses.(You also won't learn how to fix the problem if it happens again, nor how to prevent it)

Please stick to ONE thread. I already told you what you should do in your other one.

It's not feasible to hijack your account via the Steam overlay. You downloaded a trojan plain and simple.

FORMAT THE COMPUTER and start over.

STOP DOWNLOADING FROM SHADY WEBSITES

And stop spreading false rumors that have no basis in reality.
