Check for GFWL.
You can't even play it on steam without logging into that microsoft service online.

Oh and expect someday for the devs to figure out how to make it work on 7, since everyone has that or 8 by now.

I have no idea what the GOTY edition adds other than 4 letters to the title.

Yup I had to do that GFWL when I played it.. So I'm guessing that is a no?

I just am trying to workout if it will cause a crash if I have Batman AC and Batman AC GOTY installed on Steam at the same time if that makes sense..

I have windows 7 and batman arkham asylum and it works fine. I remember asking about that when I got it since windows 7 wasn't official listed. I think it has more to do with when the game was released... Also it's one of the best games I've played and I've been gaming for quite a long time... Well worth picking up especially if you are a Batman Fan....
As for Batman AC and GOTY edition... It comes down to all the extras that would cost maybe about the same to pick up seperately.... I ended up finishing gettng all the DLC this sale as, liike I said, I'm a huge fan of the game... Myself, it's hard to go wrong with that one, the DLC's really don't add too much to an already masterpeice but they're still nice touches if you are a fan of the Batman series ! !

You will either have a copy of both on your computer or the GOTY will overwrite the original.

The key should still be able to be added to GFWL just fine.

If you have a non-Steam version of the game and want to get the GOTY version on Steam for all of the DLCs, then uninstall the old version and install the new version to save hard disk space. But your previous game save will not carry over.

Runs great on Windows 8 after I upgraded too.

Thanks for the responses... but sadly the offer expired.. which is why I needed a quick answer.

I decided to play it safe and not buy it.. but if I knew it was cool with windows 7 etc then I would purchased BOTH of them... bit gutted as I liked the game (not the GFWL bit lol)

There have been a few offers so far that I have skipped cause the game was not compatible with Windows 7.

Unless th game states that it does not work with wondows 7, then it will.
If it list windows vista, it will work on windows 7 too.

Remember, the requirements are for that item or newer.

Oh so if it says windows xp , it means xp or above??

Basically anything that runs on Vista will run on 7 and 8. Some programs may require you to change the Windows compatibility mode, though. Older software and games made in the XP era are not guaranteed to run on 7 and 8, though, unless otherwise specified due to software updates (example: World of Warcraft).
