Report a translation problem
Edit: Right now there are around five million people online right now, and more on yesterday. The front page has a graph of the past 48 hours or so.
There are three main sections. The first one has these main sub-forums. The second one is an entire list of sub-forums for each and every game on steam. The third one is for steam tools.
Thats quite a lot of forums.
There is also the original website access forums which I haven't visited since forever. You'll have to dig around and get the count yourself.
I am not sure if THAT web based forum is the same one that now requires a password to even see the topics. I stick to the in-client forums.
You might also consider the game hubs as forums depending on how loose your definition of forum is.
Anyway, its a large number (mostly because each game gets a sub-forum) as far as I can tell.
