Mature Content Preferences - Settings Not Saving.
Right, I need some help... the Mature Content Preferences settings won't save. For the first time in weeks, I tried to access the Mature Game but got blocked. I got a message saying: Under the UK Online Safety Act, Valve is required to verify that you are 18 or older before accessing mature sexual content. If you wish to do so, please add a valid UK credit card to your account and afterwards update the Mature Content Preferences.

As I'm already using my bank card, I attempted to edit my Mature Content Preferences, but they appear to be already sorted. I tried unchecking and rechecking the boxes to see if that would do the trick, but unfortunately, the Mature Content Preferences settings aren't being saved. I'm still blocked from viewing Mature Content.

So, I'd like to ask for advice on what to do next? I'd like to purchase more Mature Content in the future, but I'm unable to do so until this issue is resolved.

Is there no other way? I don't have a credit card and I don't need or want one.

For UK users, this opt-in process requires age verification. Your UK Steam user account is considered age verified for as long as a valid credit card is stored on the account.

Sigh, looks like I'll never be able to buy such games again, as I don't need nor want a credit card. I hope that they find another way around this, as some people are like me, that don't need nor want a credit card. Damn UK...

See if this still works...

Use the store search, add game to the wishlist from the search page, go to wishlist, add to cart and try to purchase the game/DLC.

Valve may eventually close that workaround.

Same issue for the past week. I've deleted my debit and re-entered it after getting the uk safety act prompt but that does not work. Tried deleting browser cache and that makes no difference either. Maybe you really do need a credit card, what a ridiculous change haha

Do bank cards in the UK not have credit card logos on them?
jason 17 Sep @ 5:46am
They will have the words debit or credit. Logos are the same for both types of visa and MasterCard.

If it is associated with a bank account it will be a debit card.

A debit card does not have a visa or MC logo. A bank card does.

Virtually all UK bank cards are debit cards.
Only saw they do this when checking VN style curator page and thought it was only cause I hadn't updated card details after move but no they expect me to have reckless type of card.

Don't really buy the kind of games currently hit by it but probably will get expanded, hope its fixed (mainly in the cringe law going away or where I am joins Eire which gets me away from even more cringe alongside) before that happens.
