1-2 years later is more of a "let it go" moment.
This is all you can do as they are allowed to ban anyone they want if they are using their own moderation team and you can report it to steam if you believe they are breaking steams rules but this is very rare when some game companies abuse the system and if it was just you then nothing will really happen.
1)Stop playing the game in question: Uninstall it, remove it from your account and give neither the game nor the dev in question more of your money.
2)Ignore the game and dev on Steam. Do not purchase other products by them in the future.
3)Leave a negative review for the game.
4)Tell everyone you know IRL and online that you DO NOT recommend the game if asked.
Really that’s all you can do when subforum mods answer to absolutely no one. The biggest bargaining chip you have with devs who allow mods to ban for frivolous reasons is to withdraw your time, money, and future support from them.
Do you think the dev will march in this thread and lock it?
And by the same token, do you think the dev will request steam to remove Company of Heroes series from my library and ban me from purchasing those games?
Game dev moderators have no power outside their communities, so ko.
No. Being ridiculous and letting your imagination run amok doesn't make every doom fantasy realistic.
That doesn't really tell us much. For all we know, you suggested something that could be considered exceptionally racist or worse. If the developers went the extra mile to block you from accessing anything of theirs in terms of communication, well, you must have said something they considered obnoxious enough to warrant that effort. And if they don't want communications from you, then all you can do is accept that. Or hire a lawyer and see if they think you have a legal case.
No, if a user is a significant problem they can just give a game ban. If a Dev has decided to cutoff a user from all forms of support, their community forums, social media etc; then it's best to not buy anything from that dev to avoid potential game bans.
Which came out recently, but this series of events goes back to what, 2023?
What I did was on the COH-DEV forums, while they existed. I basically lashed out at the moderation for making all of my threads invisible to the public and not giving me a reason or reply, seeing if they will respond to my offensive thread that was invisible to public as well.
I also ended up getting banned from COH2.ORG even before then, but that was because of how I reacted to being continuously bullied on the forums, with other users derailing simple balance suggestions and requesting the moderators to lock them.
That was years ago, they should've acknowledge the time spent cooling off. It's not like I'm asking for appeals for any of the COH forum or game bans.
This is my thread I posted on that Dawn of War Definite Edition forums that led to my permaban:
"I was hoping for two new factions to be official for DOW definitive edition, perhaps if it does fine.
They cybernetic Mechanicus Explorators decimate their adversaries using cutting edge technology and firepower.
The ravenous Tyranids overwhelm, tear apart, and ultimately consume all before them."
Again, this doesn't tell us anything. Now, giving you the benefit of the doubt and taking this as all you posted in that specific post, all that tells us, is that that was the specific post the moderators chose to issue the ban on. But that tells us nothing of what LED to that ban -- the only hint you give is that you "lashed out" at some point over something else. Well, your past behaviour is always taken into consideration if they have a recorded history of it.
Plus, if it's been years, and they still don't want you in the community, then take the hint.
We cannot do anything to help you. We are just other customers. It's also doubtful Valve will (or can) do anything either as it's been years since the moderation took place.
I will repeat that the only other option, if the devs have truly cut all other routes of communication, is to seek legal advice. We cannot help you with that, either.
