I honestly do not know why the mature content setting was not defaulted back to OFF when they added age verification in the UK.

But that's Valve for ya.

Should be easy enough to incorporate a skip for those titles that someone in the UK isn't age verified to see. Some dialog along the lines of "you're not age verified to see this, click skip to move to the next title or verify to complete verification."
