You are waiting due to it being steam credit. Simply wait it out, nothing more can be done.
Steam is ensuring everything is in the clear.
If they check the wrong box that can cause more trouble.
Be patient.
And don't expect refunds for timed sales to be ready in a timely manner.
24 hours is a short amount of time.

Why is this surprising? Having to wait for funds to hit your account after a refund is commonplace.
They hold on to it as long as they can to help profits.. its why banks do it for up to 30 days, they make more money of it.

There is zero interest being made on wallet funds that are being processed back to the user.

Its before it gets to the wallet that they are making money, not after.

Those funds being held for transfer do not collect interest once the transfer was triggered.

Valve makes $0 on it during the process.

Money makes money, the more you have like a large company or a bank the more it appreciates, the slower you give it back to customers the more you get while its in your hands. They use terms like security and protecting the customers but its mostly to make more money.

That transfer doesn't happen until it gets to the customer.

Steam wallet funds are in Valve's bank account until the end of the month after you spend them on a game.

Exactly.

He said after you SPEND them, not when they're returning them to you.

They're not delaying wallet refunds because they make money off them, they don't make money off that.

Money that is held in a pending state for a transfer does not accure interest.
