My suggestions would be things like Powerwash Simulator 1 & 2 (where don't need to focus on anything and can ignore the story); Diablo 3, or similar hack n slash (again, can skip the story and start on a level that is safe, your collected gear making you stronger for each subsequent level); or something like No Man's Sky, where there are a wide range of options for tuning the gameplay loop to your comfort level. These can be played multiplayer, but don't have to be (I play each of them single player).
