Not steam's fault developers are making trash games. Still alot of good games have come out in the past few years.

I didn't say it's Steam's fault. But Steam still does literally nothing to encourage quality. At least they could enable tags like "woke" or "slop" so that people know it's a slop.

"Quality" is a game functioning, feeling nice to play and pleasant for the senses. Plenty of that to be found, even if you aren't interested in indie games. But you still have to leave mainstream. Browse for yourself.

Oh, and... stop watching rage-bait slop about "woke" on Youtube. That stuff is made to waste your time you could otherwise spend SEARCHING FOR GAMES.

Which would be biased. Steam allows whoever to put whatever on their platform so long as they fulfill 2 criteria, 1 it has to be legal and 2 they have to pay the like 100 bucks have the game put up.

When you rule out the vast majority of games what youre generally left with are the AAA companies that make the slop you dont want.

Expand your horizons.

Currently not much, but that's just cause I really want to get at my backlog. My wishlist keeps growing, though.

About what YouTubers who have a business interest in peddling outrage videos on the most popular thing at the time to be outraged about: whether it be politics, culture wars or something else.

They have a vested financial interest to keep you addicted and outraged about their slop: because it gives them engagement, thus money.

Its insanely profitable to be a recalcitrant prick in life.

There's a reason why the most popular "woke bad" group owner on Steam re-branded from just focusing on Sweet Baby Inc, while also adding donation links to the group's socials.
