I cannot register slitherine/matrix games on their site.
I bought a game from steam and I cannot register that game on the slitherine/matrix site.

They want you to buy another game from them off of their site and then you can register for multiplayer.

Steam needs to put a warning on their Store page stating that one cannot register for multiplayer on slitherine/matrix if the game was purchased on Steam.

BUYER BEWARE. Caveat emptor.

It appears they do not support their games. (based on past experience). And they do not appear to be interested in replying to emails either. They also refuse to refund for any reason.

It is good to know that one is safe with Steam's refund policy. I just bought three games and a dlc and was able to get a refund on two games and that dlc.

Thank you Steam.

Refund is probably the best choice.I personally advise against Slitherine.

User credentials were sent in plain text in their games. Additionally contaminated with telemetry and trackers. Especially considering that Slitherine collaborated with the military. If they were also so lax with data...

Manual registration in games have no real value for customers. Not at Slitherine, not even in e.g. Paradox titles. If the mechanic is still present in any game (whether in-game or through a separate launcher), customers should take care for various reasons.

The question that always arises for me in such situations is why end users often blindly trust developers and publishers and enter their data everywhere. Although they often do not care about security, or do so only inadequately, leaving customers in the dark about data usage and the services and sometimes even becoming rude when you point this out to them or threaten them with legal actions.

Above all, once data is gone, it's gone and even if users know where it went (which is rarely the case), they have to chase after every involved provider. From a data protection perspective, it's a nightmare.
