Gaming companies have little to no say over others patents. That's the patent system and the courts. People can already take matters to court including "trolling the courts" and using patents for very vague anti competitive practices. Those affected by them should be taking Nintendo to court.

Also best to not take every youtubers videoes and make threads on them. Many youtubers are outright dishonest or tell half truths.

This Youtube channel sometimes speaks about things like this but this channel specializes on sales and it covers a lot of sales including those on Steam but I understand the skepticism.

And I hope those affected by this patent can be challenged in the courts. I don't like this company having too much control over other game developers.
Battle is already lost. Disney bought everything and Nintendo will DMCA everyone it wants. Please go buy new Mario and Zelda

Nintendo died when Iwata passed away in 2015.

several well known youtubers are already talking about this. The courts have already approved of the patent which will affect a lot of games. Which will then force other gaming giants to step in hopefully

People are free to contact the patent office as well. Patents have been canceled before, for abuse to intentionally get rid of competition by claiming generic things can only be used by one party.
Just stop buying Nintendo trash and these patents wont mean anything when the company folds..
LOL by that time we may be dead as this company is from the XVIII century and there's a lot of fanboys that buy their consoles and games even if they're slop. They go as far as to snitch for the company.

Less and less everyday.. Nintendo is a joke company these days aimed at young babies.. Hardly ever hear about them here in Australia.

They are probably doing this as a last gasp to survive as consoles slowly die off..
The patent does not appear to disclose any Prior Art. Therefore, any developer or publisher that Nintendo tries to sue over this patent only need prove that significant examples of Prior Art existed before the filing date of March 1, 2023. Doing so will challenge the novelty of the patent and should have it thrown out when it comes to light that such systems have existed in game not published or developed by Nintendo long before the patent filing.

People need to stop falling for clickbait and look into things once in awhile.

The patent involves summoning characters to fight for you by throwing a ball to summon the character.

It's them protecting their pokemon mechanic as a lot of games such as palworld got in trouble over this and it's a specific mechanic they have had for years.

This is the link to the patent and websites or people are saying it covers all summons to get clicks on their website or videos when it says:

https://gamesfray.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/US12403397B2-2025-09-02.pdf

"motion of throwing ball toward front"

It's on sheet 19 of 22 and this is a specific enough mechanic that it does not cover all summons.

It's why other games have similar mechanics but never got in trouble such as temtem as they use a card to summon the character instead of a ball.
