Delete Steam Account?

I'm 60, never had credit in my entire life.
I refuse to use Credit Cards.
I refuse to use Photo ID
The UK has Debit cards that only spend money I actually have in my account guaranteed, I can't get credit on that card.
Steam has that cards details.

Since 2013 GOG has provided me with the same service that pirates give me for free.

I choose to buy my games on GOG.
Only when I'm forced to buy games on Steam, do I have to pirate them AFTER buying.

Gaben locked into a walled garden prison dreaming of CSGO "In-0ame Cash Shops & loot Boxes, paid mods in every game the plan of Steam Workshop (You still Subscribe" to download a mod FFS.

I can't buy new games now, without a credit card.
I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if it's only PEGI 18, I ignore all censorship.
I see no reason to keep my Steam Account.
I possess & Control all of my games with DRM Free Offline Installers to remove this POS store bloat from all my games.

Will Steam reverse this permanent decision, like they did for the games I deleted in 2017 (Skyrim SE & Fallout 4) for adding cash shops AFTER release I ban the publisher unless DRM free offline installers exist.

steam has removed my access to store pages of games I already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ own.

So ♥♥♥♥ you Gabe Newell.
♥♥♥♥ You Valve
♥♥♥♥ Off Steam.
Now I've made my decision, I'm glad to see the back of this POS
Steam says I have 90 games left (used to be over 200) got the rest of them on GOG now)

You only need to add a credit card if you want to buy adult porn games. You can continue to use your debit card to make other game purchases as normal if porn isn't your thing.

If you already own adult games, you can still download them and play them. You can also view the community hub for any those games you already own, only thing you wont have access to is the store page for them.

The hate is completely understandable, but Gabe and Valve were forced into this one by the UK government holding a financial gun to their head.

The only point I'll agree with calling foul on Steams part is blocking store pages for already purchased games. That access really should be grandfathered in if the account already purchased that game.

GOG IS a wonderful store, and they have payment options that do not involve visa, mc or paypal. Separate but related issue, Valve should consider adding those options for those of us who want to support them without using the abusive payment methods.

Im unfazed by the new implementation, so far. every site ive had to "register" with was really easy, indeed I think ive only twice had to verify my age, both times were quick and simple.

I dont have a sole "credit card" any more, rather a Debit/Visa/Mastercard, but I also dont buy porn games.

So, it seems, to my inexperienced eyes, that folk are more angry thay cant fap anonymously to grim games any more.

Or have I missed the point?

You can just keep all the games you already bought on Steam to play and buy games elsewhere from now on, like GOG. If that's what you wanted. You don't need to delete your whole Steam account.

You're 60 and you pirate games? I'm in my early 40's and I never pirated a game. Were you one of those people that rented computer games and copied the floppies at home so you could get the game for a few dollars?

gabe was forced into adding age verification, he wasn't forced into making it credit card only that was his choice and it's a crappy choice

Why are people surprised at someone being 60? Steam's been around a long time. If you were in your 40s and signed up when it first came out, you can be in your 60s now. People also can join any time they like. The guys playing the Atari 2600 and stuff would be in 50s or 60s probably and so got their gamer start early that way.
