Unable to use remote play over LAN because Steam server can't be reached
This is a thoroughly irritating design decision. Trying to stream from one PC in my home to another, which I do regularly, but not today because someone f'ed up the SSL on the Steam server.

Why is this even a thing? It's two local devices, if your server isn't working it should just let me remote play by default.

Big text error window in SteamLink standalone client:
Can't pair with Steam Couldn't connect to Steam servers

And CLI output when launching said client:
Web request https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/IRemoteClientService/CreateSession/v1 failed, CURL error SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK (60), HTTP error code 0 Couldn't connect to Remote Client service Web request https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ISteamApps/GetSDRConfig/v1?appid=353380 failed, CURL error SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK (60), HTTP error code 0

Anyway, kindly refer this to whomever manages the Remote Client Service.

There are no valve / steam employees or staff, server techs, steam support, or moderators in this steam related sub-forum. No one in this USER - USER only sub-forum can help you.

You can post in this forum and get some help however:

This is the top level discussion area. I bet someone at Valve browses here even if they don't acknowledge it.

Someone at valve did an oopsie with their SSL cert.

Negative, this is a user to user only access steam sub-forum. Exact wording from the forum description book, that our beloved Forums Manager keeps up to date. Only Himself, and the Global Moderators even have access to it. And no, the various departments do NOT pass along info to other departments...
