Desktop app - Windows
In the top right corner of Steam it's an installer for a desktop application. I've done that quiet some time ago, but when I click a link to a workshop from Discord in transfers me to non-app Steam. Why do I even need installed Steam app if it's not automatically used by external links?

If I'm checking a game there is a button to open in app, but not for other things.

external links are always opened with the default web browser firefox, chrome, edge, brave etc, the steam client cannot be set as the default web browser
