Imagine an Indies game Hype Killing Other Devs' Sales

I know it’s my fault for not buying the game earlier during the sale period, but now there are only about 2 hours left adn i cant even load my cart or store pages and suddenly this massive indie release drops, taking the entire Steam server down. Now I can’t even check out or buy the game I had in my cart. Guess I won’t be spending any money this time. I’ll just wait for the next sale and if the game doesn’t hit the same discount counts, I’ll just delete it from my wishlist.

It's not just Steam. It's also Nintendo, Xbox and a few other large services that had huge outages.

Steam can't be too happy about it either. They are losing money because people can't buy Silksong and are resorting to Humble Bundle and other storefronts to buy it.

Perhaps it's the 5+ million people that have wish listed it causing problems by trying to buy it now.

Yes. Which is why we can't buy it. It releasing broke the store.
