They do business in these countries so yes, they do need to follow those laws.
Why not start your own business and ignore laws, and let's see you practice what you preach. I'll get the popcorn, I love watching clueless laymen learn hard lessons that they could have understood if they didn't live by "ready, shoot, aim".

Or they can form an alliance with every other company and fight this. Caving into demands will just hurt them in the long run.
They do business in the UK, so they are subject to relevant UK laws. They are beholden to all relevant laws in every country in which they do business.
