Steam has become an over priced platform
haven't purchased a game on steam for over 12 months because Steam has become an over priced platform of games of no interest. Games more than 10 years old are priced as modern games, games on sale are priced more than they were ever worth, more than when released. Due to steams pricing practices, using sites like instant gaming and others has become the norm, and offer savings of up to 80%
We were looking at purchasing AFL 26 PC, on Steam they want $99, but on another platform we purchased AFL 26 for $29. Steam is no longer the platform to buy games, in reality, its the worst.

Devs set the price on their game and choose when it goes on sale not valve.

... *sigh* ...

Steam is a service, not a company.
It doesn't set prices. The game publishers do.
no doubt, but under steams policies and they both have their hands in the pie.

Valve's own suggested price was A$ 87.95.

Blame Nacon for ignoring Valve's suggested price and going with A$ 99.95 instead.

Thanks for telling us you're a cheapskate, and PC gaming isn't really your hobby.

no matter what steam suggests or publishers want, they ask too much, when the reality is you can purchase and any game that's on the steam platform on another site for a lot less. it makes steam a no go.

You mean scam sites that get keys to games illegally / fraudulently?
no worries, if it helps the blind like yourself save a few bucks, its all good.

Valve's suggested price is based on what the publisher is asking for in USD. It's not Valve telling the publisher what they think a game is valued at. It's just math based on what the publishers want. You have seen the titles on Steam that are completely free to play, yes?

You can debate that the overall cost of games is far too much. Many will agree with you. But you're focusing that as a Steam issue when it is an industry issue. The fact that you've found the same games for cheaper elsewhere isn't some new development. Key sites have been a thing for a while now and are typically cheaper than what games are priced on Steam. That still isn't a pricing problem due to Steam. Where do you think those Steam keys come from?

My point is your frustration over prices on Steam is misplaced. It isn't the cause of your pain.

you're calling people a cheapskate but your level 4 meaning you aint even buy many things
To say steam is overpriced feels like you like very specific games.

I took a quick look at my wish list and there’s quite a few things that are on sale for a good price so I don’t know what you mean.

Edit: I’m seeing $7.49 , $9.99 , and $14.99 USD when I look at these games atm in case you see something different.

Dude, please learn to quote people properly, by using the quote function Steam provides. It makes it confusing when reading your comments because we don't know for sure what is said by you and what is said by others. This is really simple to do.
