I'm being shown items on the homepage directly against my preferences.
I have EA ignored as a developer and sports games as an ignored tag, and yet I'm seeing EA sports games every time they're released. Why?

Q: Sometimes I see blurred out games on my Store front page. Why is that?

A: There are a number of sections on the front page that we fill with games, and to ensure the servers behind it don't melt down as everyone tries to use it, we do a lot of data caching. This works great for data sets that we can easily pre-compute - so if there's a game you shouldn't see due to your mature content filters, you'll never see it on the front page. But if you've chosen to do some more personal filtering of particular developers, or specific games, we can't do that pre-computation as easily. As a result, it's possible you'll see a blurred out game on the front page because your personal filters should cause it to be hidden. In practice, though, this will only happen if you've filtered out so many games that it can't find enough to fill a section of the front page, and again, like the search results, we'll blur that game out and tell you why.

Because publishers want to sell games. If it was automatically blocked at launch then it would equate (for them, of course...) to immediate loss of revenue and they would blame Steam directly.

I don't think that it is ludicrous to expect games that got out the same week to be showcased at their launch, especially for titles they expect are very popular and awaited by a fair amount of users. Even if that's something you're not interested it via your preferences. What you can expect however is not get bothered by it again later on. Unless, maybe, if there is a specific promotion or fest about it.

With almost a thousand games in your library. That's a thousand games they can't show you. To be blunt the only thing left to recommend. Are things that you probably wouldn't want to buy, but nevertheless match to others with similar tastes. With a library the size of yours why go to their store. Other then to look for something to complain about.

This is just another one of those I hate Electronic Arts threads, and frankly they are getting really tedious and annoying now. I play Electronic Arts games, and they are usually playable, and no I've never made a micro transaction. They aren't the best, they aren't the worst, they aren't the devil himself. You all are going overboard with this publisher hating nonsense.
