Cloud sync is driving me nuts. (Trying to sync even when cloud is shut off).
So, I first started having issues with cloud sync when I played riftbreaker a couple times and it took forever to do a cloud sync when I was done playing the game. Made it nearly impossible to play other games because Steam is busy trying to cloud sync stuff.

Now I'm playing Factorio and experiencing similar issues. I shut off cloud sync globally and locally, but upon my computer restarting, Steam is trying to sync the cloud with Factorio even though I've shut it all off, and I can't play the game while it's doing this.

This isn't even a new issue from what I've looked up, but it's still incredibly silly, and actively getting in the way of my ability to play my own games.

That's weird it's taking so long to sync, typically it's a small file that Steam is trying to download from your computer to save your ingame progress in the cloud.

Can't you just exit from the sync and enter the game?

I've tried, and there doesn't appear to be an option unless Steam thinks it's going too slow and then asks.

I really don't know...

Potential causes to think about:
  1. Maybe your internet is slow?
  2. Maybe your hard drive is slow?
  3. Maybe you don't have enough space to save files?

I'm not sure about this but Steam might create some temporary files while downloading the ingame progress and that might cause the delay.

Try to go offline (Steam > Go Offline) to prevent syncing attempts, but it's a bypass not a fix.

I genuinely don't know what might cause this, sorry.

Hopefully you solve it, good luck!
