Make it impossible for devs to add "Season passes" in early access.
Yeah, I'm talking about skate.
It's ridiculous. You've made it so that devs can not overpromiss and underdeliver in early access so this only makes sense. How can they release a game that's been in development for 6 years, has many, many, MANY technical issues, it's quite boring and there are already monetization options for it?
"oh but it's free to play...." if the game ran at 120FPS for everyone, hadd no conectivity issues, no game breaking bugs and wasn't a grind fest for "a different coloured bland t shirt" i'dgive you that. But the forums are filled with complaints from players that can't even play the game because of technical issues or soft locks.
But hey, you can spend 30 bucks on a chicken suit and get your dopamine fix already.
Pathetic...

Vote with your wallet. You don't need others to protect you from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you can do it yourself. You're free to stay away from season passes and you're free to, while we're at it, stay away from Early Access as well.

If others want to blow their money on a chicken suit/a short-term dopamine fix, let them. You spend your money however you like.
It is free to play. The season pass is optional not mandatory.
You clearly don't like the game, so why are you even playing it? Uninstall it and move on with your life.

Because I want to like it.

You're not wrong, but you are in a way excusing these practices. "Who cares if they buy it..." I'd like to play AAA games again, games that have large production value and they WORK. Not some silly ah costume freak show every damn time.

I'm not excusing anything. It's just that you're projecting here. You expect some external organ (in that case Valve) to make sure you'll not get what you don't want instead of you taking care of that yourself.

You're not the king/queen of the world. You have to accept that other people might have purchase habits different from yours. Hell, I bought a cosmetic pack in a game I really enjoyed myself (Killing Floor 2) because I wanted to. And I sure as ♥♥♥♥ don't want people like you dictate others like me what we can and can not purchase.

You don't want cosmetic season passes? That's your wish, your wallet. Now stop the populist crap ("you're excusing" which I am even not, at no point did) and accept that others decide for themselves.
You know, it is a free 2 play game.
If Valve would "ban" passes in EA, then those EA games which would offer season passes would just announce their final release or never enter EA at all.

So it would change exactly nothing.

the problem is that the Market cares,If they haven't lowered the price then the games have probably sold well and even if they didn't the games themselves will probably be considered a dud rather than the price increase itself

Also given that's it f2p they need a way to make money out of skate, them having a battlepass is in no way bad, it just means that they want to pursue Fomo but the bp itself? no

Can you not like it by simply ignoring the season pass or is it a case of fomo as everything is optional to purchase, not mandatory.

I mean, DLC in early access is a problem. I say this as an EAG advocate. You want early support for your game. Your focus should be on turning that game into v1.0, not selling DLC for a product that isnt ready for a retail release.

I will not buy any EAG that engages in this practice. ARK did this and the bad taste never left my mouth.

All of the above is irrelevant though when the game is F2P. Its an entirely different model and I have no issue with devs shaking money out of freeloaders that dont want to actually support the game they play.
F2P games typically add optional things to try making it profitable. Don't really see an issue with that.

Then simply don't buy them as stated, seems you are causing more pressure on yourself than needed.
