Steam Deck Black Screen Issue
Hello,

I don't know if anyone from Valve will read this but I'm going to just spill on how upsetting my experience has been. Today I went to boot up my steam deck after charging it all night. Once I booted it up the screen would not turn on but the touchpads haptics are responsive and it does power on. However, the screen is completely black and the fans are running at full speed.

I have tried the general suggestions based on Steams troubleshooting. This included...

1) holding the Power button for 12 seconds. Then tapping the power button.

2) holding the volume up (+) and tapping power button

3) holding the volume up (+), holding the button near right track pad (...) and the power button

4) allowing the battery to drain fully then plugging back into a charger then powering it on.

5) Plugging it into another monitor to see if the boot up screen or recover options would appear.

None of these have resolved the issue. This is the second steam deck I have bought. I just bought and received my new deck in July 2025 and I'm having issues again. The prior one I had went outside the manufacturers warranty so I couldn't get that one fixed so I bought this new one.

This seems like it's a steam software issue I don't understand how Valve has not solve these Black Screen of Death issues as this issue is happening to so many of your customers. You have a wonderful product that I love and use daily, but the product is getting brought down by these issues where I'm sure it is costing Valve tons of money fixing or replacing these devices due to a software issue.

You know there's an issue and you don't allow customers to buy an extended warranty or acknowledge that there is an issue and you are working on solving it. It's definitely the most recent version of Xbox Red Ring of Death era.

Have you ever experienced a screen Who is playing (your name and a + sign next to it) when you wanted to open Steam program from the desk icon while you were totally signed in Steam? When you clicked on your name, it asked your password while you are signed in?
