Game Forums Should Always Show Time Played On A Game
There are way too many people just commenting on game forums, for games that they don't play.

Basically, just spamming forums and spreading false information about a game that they don't have or don't even play.

Or it at least should show how much time they actually spent on the game to be deemed an "active" player.

That would help quell a lot of the Steam game sub-forums from negative spammers.

Play time is behind a privacy setting. This can not be forced upon everyone.

A mouse icon next to their name at least shows ownership.

A violation of privacy.

Developers have to leave one forum open for everyone and they choose which one.

You have commented on forums of games you do not have on Steam. Dark Souls II being one example.

View the person's profile, if the info is public there then you have your answer, even shows last played. Otherwise you will simply have to be without that information.
yeah i had this argument with people on the battlefield 4 forum.....me not having the game on steaming pile means NOTHING.....after 7000 hours of game play i have helped many people with all kinds of issues on that forum.....

to many fixes or even valid conversations are started by people playing on other options....from consoles to even other store fronts on PC, most of the input is valid....

for the people that have the game on steam a MOUSE icon will be displayed next to their name IF your in the forum for that game.....hovering your mouse over their name will bring up a window showing hours in game IF they have the account set to open....if set to private you will only see the mouse icon.....

in closing.....people need to understand how SMALL steaming pile really is.....i have played with some people for just at 15 years now with them never buying a single game on steam and being only PC players....from WoW to battlefield many people dont use steam
No, people use other platforms like Epic or GOG.
I've had someone try to call me out for not owning a game on steam for me to link them to a playlist with 40 hours of me playing the game, lmao. means nothing. it just gives people an out to avoid addressing criticism, but if they've made that choice there's not really much you can do to force the person to come to reason or respectful dialogue.
