It's likely that when Steam updated, the software that runs the controller no longer linked with the software on the PC that receives input form the device. This can cause partial and/or complete input loss when pressing buttons. Sometimes it can be fixed by resetting the software. Other times it'll take a complete redo of the whole software. Either way, your best bet is to wait and see if Steam fixes it. If not, then your next option is to try to fix it yourself. Although, that might not be easy to do since you can't alter the software on Steam unless it retains to your own account.

thanx for the reply. somehow it changed a setting from game controller input to steam input. now the problem is my custom bindings for game are not in the options menu any longer.
