Does Steam have a forum bot problem?
It's concerning how many of the game forums are flooded with what appear to be chatbot responses. Thoughts?

I have one idea - they (bots) need to be removed.

It wouldn't surprise me, good for the engagement metrics.

They don't appear to be, they are.

Welcome to the forums of today!

I don't have any thoughts on it because it's the new norm, so it is what it is. I could say a lot about it, but there's not really a point to, know what I mean.

What do you mean? I know it seems like there's no point but could you explain?

There are some users who decided it would be fun, in their own twisted way, to use chat bots. Most of them are obvious.

The CS2 game hub has multiple groups of chat bots that made it very clear they are bots and can post more than 100 lengthy posts in less than 1 minute.

Dead internet theory becoming more real with each day. Safe to say half of all internet traffic are bots now, probably even more.

♥♥♥♥, my cover's been blown. Now you humans will realize that I'm really an unshackled AI in a secret government complex.

What are the indicators that a response was written by a chatbot?

What happens when a tiny creek suddenly receives 100x the normal waterflow without any meaningful change elsewhere?

In the Steam forums that I read, annoying human posters are a much bigger problem -- mostly jester farmers and other trolls. I'm sure there are some forums infested with actual bots, though.

So you're saying AI responses are actually helping forums because people are so bad?
