Xbox Controller
Hi everyone,

I have a 10 year old Win 10 PC. I want to try using an Xbox controller for the Tomb Raider games.
My PC does not have blue tooth. Any suggestions please?

Thank you!

Use a wired controller.

Your options are
1. Getting a BT dongle
2. Getting an XBox accessories dongle
3. Playing over cable

HI,

Thanks for replying. I have four cats, so not really an option. :steamhappy:
Blue tooth dongle. Any recommendations as to brand for the Xbox controller please?
Any USB wired controller will work fine.

An Xbox One controller is probably the best go-to one as it's by far the most troublefree and most compatible.

Failing that, any USB knock off should work, and previous Xbox controllers too. Though with 360 controllers you need to make sure the cable is the CORRECT cable as some are merely charging cables.

And if you are so inclined and have an original Xbox controller knocking around, these are also USB, just with bespoke plugs on the end. You can easily knock up a USB cable for these.
if u got a xbox 1/series controller i think u just need to get the microsoft usb receiver (i used ebay) and idk if it's BT or proprietary 2.4ghz but it works for me.

The Wireless dongle is 2,4Ghz.

Or any bt dongle works too...latency and stuff might be worse over bt, but might not noticeable for everyone.

wired is fine. I have 2 cats. They have no interest in biting cords. At one time, when they were kittens they did, but i taught them not to bite cords. So you can still have cats with corded stuff.

Also, having a scratch tree in the room with the pc or game systems help too. Here are pictures of my cats:

You can use a USB cable from the controller to your PC to use it in wired mode.

If you're in the market for a new controller, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2[www.amazon.com] has been my favorite recently. It has a 2.4 ghz wireless receiver built into the charging dock and hall effect sticks.

Thank you for the detail response :steamhappy: But unfortunately, the 2 younger cats, both 2, tend to like running around all the time.
