What's Digital ID?

Take the issue up with your respective govts. They're trying to pass the same state-by-state in the US. No one is safe from this - the powers-that-be demand our fealty as much as they demand our personal data.

they claim it's because of illegal immigrants, but they could just stop illegal immigration by using already existing border force, instead they put illegals in hotels and finance them with taxpayers money.

In theory a digital id would make it harder to prevent forgery and identity theft that normal physical id's have happen to them.

It would just be another method to try to stop illegals from getting employment they believe until it also gets abused or the employers simply ignore it like you see a lot of times who purposely hire them to save on wages.

there must be some way of punishing businesses that hire illegals...

because fakes can be good enough to get by for those things. There is no real reliable method of verification available to those services

The digital id they are looking at is more of a way to stop illegals from being hired as the items you talked about can be done with other forms of id's from other regions as they are doing this to make only people from that country be employed.

A digital id would be something the government can track a lot better then a normal id where a lot of the times only the employer may look at it before hiring someone to hire whoever they want easier.

Businesses can get in trouble if they are caught hiring illegals and paying them less just like when they hire people and never report their income by paying in cash only to avoid taxes but a digital id is just another method to also fight this.

It's not to stop illegal immigrants. The parties mandating digital ID are the exact same parties letting illegals in and giving them preferential treatment over the citizens. It will be used to unmask and veto transactions with dissidents.

No, not mature games, i like to game with my children and avoid all that, its just that I think the Digital ID is not for the purpose they say it is and I'm going to resist it. It started out being just a social media ban but then I seen that Steam is on the list. Its coming in December so I was just a bit hesitant to buy any more games on Steam now.

There is a difference between illegal immigration and normal immigration.

Normal immigrants will pay taxes and eventually become citizens or pay for the services they use.

The hotel issue is because of a shortage of homes while they file the paperwork for asylum for them to live legally in the country.

They have allowed so many in because of a work shortage and hope this will be a solution.
