Yeah I agree the art has been dreadful this year. Overly busy images, not remotely related to the season, not even clear what is even happening in the image... The only good thing is that it'll be a different artist next year.

And given all the events and fun things from previous sales have gone, the art is the only thing of interest nowadays.

It's awful. The worst I've ever seen in all precedent Steam sales.

I like some of this one. It has all these cute little elf-like people in it. It has nothing to do with Autumn that I can find, but I like all the little people.

The past Summer sale art I didn't like though. I thought it was pretty harsh, it had some lady chained up and being tortured or something. There were all these people that looked like cultists around her and she was chained and it looked really bad. I found that one really off-putting.

and yup, the summer one is the first bundle i haven't bought cause of how bad and unrelated is, just sad.

I would say that artwork isn't bad, but it is not my cup of tea. What is worst for me is that it doesn't reflect autumn season. It is just tiny people in house doing things. I want back artworks, which you can at first glance guess, what season it is. Not this. I would thought that Valve gave artist one requirement: make four artworks and every one of them must have some essence from corresponding season. But it seems this author make anything not related to seasons and Valve just accept it. I liked artworks last year (and sure hope in 2026 there will be better art from someone, who knows it needs to be related to corresponding event). So yeah, I am also dissapointed in artworks this year, because it has nothing to do with seasons.

who thinks about Autumn when they see some ugly ass characters, who are in abstract clothing doing sitting in a weird house.

it's kind of funny because they want to push people into using the discovery queue during those sales by rewarding you with items, except we went from trading cards to unremovable ugly slop stickers.
Now I'm actively avoiding the discovery queue because I don't want to bloat my sticker list with even more ugly stickers, I already have enough of those and I can't get rid of them. At least with the trading card you could just convert or sell those lol.

Well, you won't have to deal with it after this year, since they'll get someone new for 2026.

(and just like the last year's artist, I expect the forum next year to switch from "this sucks" to "where'd that artist go, I liked it")

So I went to actually look at the art. It's not my cup of tea, but you certainly have a high expectation of what 2- and 3-yo kids can do art-wise, if you think they could pull that off.
