Does this kind of thing happen to anyone else?
Serious question do I just attract this kind of attention/admiration, or does this happen to other contributors on a semi regular basis. Not that I mind getting the points even if in Jester form, but I get an email from Valve saying I've received twelve awards worth over five thousand points.

Okay people must really like something that I posted, but then I scroll through the awards. Yeah there is a post getting legit appreciation, but I'm also getting jesters on game reviews. Not just a recent review or two, but game reviews from years ago. One was even nine years old.

I'd like to think I have a wonderfully warped sense of humor, but if there is a joke here I'm really not getting what it's about. So I ask does this happen to others here, and what do you make of this kind of thing, because this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened to me.

Jester = I disagree
Some people just can't help it

It depends on the review, if you are posting reviews that are critical of a popular game then it could be attracting jesters from disgruntled fans who disagree. Sometimes ensuring that you leave comments for the review turned on can also help. At the end of the day though it’s free points so I wouldn’t let it bother you.
Yes, OP. This kind of "attention" happen to me all the time too.

Usually from snowflakes which happen to disagree on a tame take I have but they react so wildly that they feel the need to "stalk" me to the end of my post history. From years ago too.

It is simply free points from people who can't seem to be able to live in a society.

Well at least I'm not alone in this, and it seems like a phenomena. It's like throwing thirty to fifty dollars worth of hate at somebody. Well I wish I knew who it was I could thank them. I'm going to use it to buy an additional achievement showcase.
