I just noticed this when someone was asking about it in the /r/Steam discord server. After looking into this myself and playing a little detective work, it looks like if you add a free or free to play title to your library, while it may appear in your client library, it will no longer appear in the library as seen from your profile when you click on games from the profile unless they have gameplay time registered, or are permanently account-bound via paid DLC.

Judging by the steamladder website I'd guess this started within the last few days based on graphs for the libraries of some of the bigger game collectors.


So yeah. This is interesting and new. And begs the question: Is this a bug or is it intentional?

I'm actually fine with it either way.
