What are your thoughts on the latest Steam/Valve platform update?
Hey everyone!
• What new features have you noticed and tried out?
• How do you feel about the interface changes and improvements?
• Have the updates improved your overall Steam experience?
• Are there any particular aspects of the updates that you really like or dislike?
• Do you think Valve is moving in the right direction with these platform changes?

I think it's always interesting to get different perspectives from the Steam community, especially since we all use the platform differently. Whether you're primarily a gamer, content creator, or just enjoy browsing the store, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how these updates have affected your Steam experience.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's opinions and having a good discussion about the direction Steam is heading!I wanted to start a discussion about the recent Steam platform updates that Valve has been rolling out. There have been some significant changes and improvements to the Steam client and overall user experience lately.

I'm curious to hear what the community thinks about these updates:

I think its pointless waste of time and effort for a loss in functionality and way too many clicking to do what you did instantly before.. Frankly it makes me ignore it.

I already ignore most steam features these days, i do not not like wading through tons of trash meme games to find a new game..

I generally go to Greenmangaming or Fanatical etc to see what they are selling to find new games.. Searching Steam for random stuff its pointless these days, all the meta data ruined it.
You took away the most important aspect of the store function, my followed games list. That is how I decide what games I actually buy, keeping track of what I like and when it goes on sale! Not your contrived recommendations and other categories.
You most likely will make me go elsewhere to find the games I want if I can not keep track of them here.
Following the games that I might be interested in to determine if they have updated to a working title and not a broken mess is very important to purchase decisions. I really don't understand why you would think this was in any way a good idea.

Absolutely!
Interesting that you can apparently add games to the 'followed' list but see them or remove them.

I really miss the "Followed Games" list. Please bring it back.

Looks like too much needless clutter again to me. I'm just gonna ignore those new features and not even bother checking 'em, just gonna pretend those do not exist.

They borked wishlist even more than before, therefore update sucks monkey balls.
The new store UI is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, have to jump through hoops to find what used to be available in a single click.

The new interface sucks. Give us the option to re-enable what was taken away.

They basically removed 90% of the links and images and replaced it with a tiny menu with barely any options, then put those old links into a page you get to from going to Catagories > View all genres & themes, which they call the "Site Map". This feels extremely poorly thought out, like they had barely any time to even make it and they did a rush job to fill a quota, which does not feel like the Valve I know. You can especially tell how sloppy this is because of how much empty space there is and how they literally didn't even change the spacing for anything. Do people genuinely like empty space on websites? It just looks unprofessional to me, like they didn't finish their UI.

This UI is so bad, wtf is steam doing?
This is equivalent to the windows 11 forced update that nobody asked for. Its soul less and I hate it. Feels unfinished and full of wasted empty space now. At least you didn't soften the edges and make everything look like stupid bubbles. Give us the option to go back to what we liked. Who even wanted this and why does it feel so amateur in execution?
