2) See point 1
3) Valve don't allow crypto games on their platform, what are you referring to?
There was a cancer charity drive where some guy was streaming for crypto donations to fund his cancer treatments.
Someone told him to play a game on Steam that turned out to be malware which emptied his crypto wallet.
That’s what I’ve absorbed of the alleged events anyways.
Alter or abolish that Online Safety Act so that the rest of the world doesn't have to also worry about it. (Not entirely sure how to solve the Mastercard/Vista issue, so good luck on that front).
If it's the one I'm thinking of, the streamer WAS the scammer. He lied about having X amount of hours to live and asked for donations in crypto and when he got enough, he rug pulled everyone.
Could be thinking of the wrong guy, though.
It's a very rare thing for malware or crypto based games to get onto Steam. If any are found, they should be reported.
They weren't crypto games. They were games that stole the crypto wallets of users.
BlockBlasters and Lunara are the 2 that recently had malware to steal crypto wallets.
You really think the UK is swaying everyone else to this "online safety" scheme? Why didn't the online companies fight this and say "no!" and threaten to just cut the UK out? It's because they know this is inevitable.
Australia is doing it, European Union is planning to use it and states in the U.S are passing it into state law (California, Ohio and Missouri are ones I'm aware of)
It doesn't bar you from your library.
datCookie: In regards to point 3.
They may not allow crypto games on steam, but some have gotten on here by bypassing the steam restriction by putting links in their games to the crypto stuff off steam.

NOTE: I have reported many of these games and passed it along to SOTS.
I've seen this line specifically from some sources, but it's not being hit for being "japanese", they get banned for depictions of minors in sex acts which is illegal in many countries. Those are the ones banned before even being allowed to be sold, any that were also missed are banned when reported & investigated.
They'll likely get stricter anti-malware scans of recent updates. It appears the dev intended to make a bad update, and has already been reported to authorities. People also shouldn't download something that random strangers link to them or tell them to download, especially "free" stuff that ones unfamiliar with especially while logged into a bank or crypto wallet. Never save login credentials either for such places.
