New Steam Store Menu looks monstrously bad
The store's new menu turned him into a pumpkin.
You cannot view all categories at once. This is the main problem.
The search results do not show the games I need, although the advanced search finds them.
The suggested categories have nothing to do with what I play. And why would I even need them?
For some reason, demo versions and DLCs are placed in "other"

Steam Store Site Map (genres, also known as advanced search) - it's an absolute nightmare. What used to fit on half a page, within reach of the mouse cursor, has now expanded to a full page, making it harder to find what you're looking for than finding a needle in a haystack.

And visually, it looks horribly bad. The old design was pleasing to the eye, it had aesthetics. The new design has nothing. It looks like the page didn't fully load. Or the layout is off.

In short, the new menu is disgusting and inconvenient.
It's now easier to use Google or Steam DataBase than to search within Steam itself.

Its not the first time they forced dystopian worsening ui on us, in fact its the 3rd time, and its infuriatingly selfish of them.

Also a reminder the last time they did this, they went out of there way to change code to make it imposable to get the old ui back, i don't know why people keep defending steam when they do stuff like this making them no better than other big oppressive company's that love there needless enshittification...

I was so disgusted by the massive ad for Slime Rancher taking up the majority of my screen, I just automatically added it to my ignore list.

The new UI is bad, and I am sure they know it. They are just doing it so they can sell that large landing spot as premium ad space.
Yup. I have to say that it is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE downgrade from what we used to have before this update.

What I'm actually thinking right now is: why the hell am I forced to browse like if I was looking at this page like I had a cellphone when I'm on my PC???

Clearly Valve don't want to promote selling games anymore...

You will get used to it just as you always do.

You can "get used to" a lot of thing, that doesn't make them better or even good in general

You mean like I've literally stopped using the store page already one update ago before this one?

I get my new game introduction from friends or the internet at large now. The only use I've had for the store page for a long time is the search button so I can get directly on the page I want instead...

I find it's a lot less responsive and harder to navigate. It's laid out in a confusing way and it takes a lot more clicks to get anywhere. I'm very disappointed by it.

The enshittification of everything continues apace.
Its modern tradition.. make everything look generic and remove functionality.. Steam has been moving in this direction for years..

Yeah the new menu is ass.

Yea, the new layout sucks. Came here to see if there was a trick to revert it. Why break what doesn't need fixing?
Seems Valve's lack of communication is starting to show.

I need a mod to bring the old shop menu now, and bring back my white wishlist block.

Product Management 101, before making a GUI update to a feature on your site that makes you money, ensure the feature changes are things the customer wants.

This new store is a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥!

I feel like we just passed from Windows 7 to Windows 8...Can we have an option somewhere to opt out of this new UI?
