Transferring games to a different computer
I'm going to preface this with this so no one gets the wrong idea. I'm not trying to bypass family share or anything like that.

Now onto the real part of it. I'm going to be building a much beefier PC than the one I've got within a budget of 3k(Sure it's not future proofed wholly, but it's going to be very good for what I need and by the time I'd need a Ryzen 9 CPU, I'd be able to afford one after saving up for it).

My plan is to transfer my steam library from my current computer to the new build to cut down on having to download games and expending a lot of bandwidth. Same account on both PCs, but different PCs that are both mine.

Is it permitted to transfer games from an older prebuilt gaming PC to a newer custom build if both PCs are yours?

Cool, I just wanted to be sure before I started the whole thing. Especially since the day is no longer a nebulous dream, but drawing closer with each passing minute.

I haven't downloaded games anew for several builds now. Do the whole Steam-on-2nd-drive kind of install, you can just yank the 2nd drive out of the old build, slot it into the new build, point Steam at it, and after some confirmations by the client you just continue like it was before.
dont newer computers interlink with newer game software...
to me you are better off just downloading the games you play a lot....
and get the most up to date and useful integration of game software

like my computer does not need 50 nvidia model video software because
i have a lower model.... same with cpu....

all your games are going to be stored on steam anyway....
let them take care of what you dont play.... but as always.... you do you
