It’s time for a Collective Lawsuit
It’s getting ridiculous now, Steam as well as other platforms need to stand together and sue the absolute hell out of Payment processors for their abuse of power.

This should NOT be allowed, it’s time for Visa, Mastercard, etc to lose their power.

All that will happen is the payment processors will remove their business from these platforms, effectively bankrupting them.

Keep in mind these processors are embedded in more than just the gaming industry, so throwing it away means nothing to them.

This is the type of attitude that ensures we keep slowly marching down the path of technological enslavement. It’s not just demoralising but also objectively wrong since neither Valve or the payment processor companies are above the law and would need to abide by any legal decisions.
under what cause of action?

The time to act was 60, 30, or even 20 years ago. And yes, Payment Processors are above the law. They're part of the big club. And Collective Shout is aligned with the big club

This whole left vs right thing has been nothing more than a distraction as the ultra rich have basically bought out our various countries, especially the US. It's only a matter of time before country flags get replaced with the flags of Corporate sponsors and the United States is renamed the United Corporations.

Welcome to the dystopian future that's been warned about in sci-fi. We don't have cybernetics or any of the cool things from those futures. But what we do have is extreme oppression and people cheering for that oppression on both sides so long as the people on the other side suffer.

We need alternative payment processors or laws.

Getting used to it is a cheaper alternative than a lawsuit.

seems this is upto business and devs and people that are losing money to fix...

Its called pragmatism. Idealism is really cool when it doesnt cost anything.
Retaliatory action by payment processors would be almost guaranteed, there is enough murkiness in the system, they could do that easily and not get caught.

I love the intention. But Steam is only the last one of a list of victims of the payment processor policies. This has been happening for a looong time before it reached Steam...

Also good luck getting anyone to join on a collective lawsuit about defending "rape/pedo games". Specially with the current political winds.
be my guest not placing bets on that one
So...why haven't YOU started one instead of posting fear mongering on forum boards?

Removing games with guns because VISA said no guns in games will lead to less income
